MY TRUE STORY: HOW I BECAME A VICTIM OF AN ONLINE ROMANCE SCAM

As time went on, he began asking me for financial help. He claimed he needed money for different emergencies and promised he would repay me once he arrived in Germany. Because I believed everything he told me, I sent him money more than once. I ignored the warning signs because I thought I was helping someone I loved.

Eventually, I noticed that his stories kept changing, and many things no longer made sense. That's when I realized I had been manipulated. It was heartbreaking to accept that the relationship was never real and that I had been the target of a romance scam. I felt embarrassed, disappointed, and emotionally drained.
